Creative Industries Enterprise Competition Day13/06/17
On Tuesday 27th June the year 7 students will be involved in a Creative Industries Enterprise Competition Day. The aim of the day is to give the students the opportunity to explore a variety of Creative Technologies and inspire students to be creative thinkers. As a result students will be able to identify, understand, relate, examine, develop and determine the importance of creativity as a transferable skill. The students should then be able to apply these skills across the curriculum and see how their artistic abilities might help them in more academic subjects.
Students will be split into mini companies. In their companies students will plan, create and market a product during the day and in the evening, students from each company will present their product in a Dragon’s Den style competition. This will be judged by external judges.
Parents are invited to the finale event which will take place in the School Hall between 5pm and 6.30pm. This will be where the students present their product for judging and the winner will be announced. As part of the judging process, there will be an opportunity for friends and relatives to visit the market place set up by the students to purchase the products made as part of the day.
This is an exciting new opportunity for our Year 7’s. The day will highlight the importance of creativity in industry while allowing students to develop transferable skills. The focus of the day will be creative thinking and problem solving, developing a practical understanding of resilience and team building. However, it should also be a day of independence, creativity and fun!
